Statement
Human beings alone are created in the image and the likeness of God (Genesis 1:26-27). The image and the likeness of God include creativity, communication and management ability. Art is the ultimate stylization of these God given traits.
At Alpha Contemporary, we support creative art works, deliver messages from artists through their art works, and share them with the world. Not only we exhibit and sell art works, we also offer a place to stimulate ones’ creativity and communication.
In particular, we are focusing on the process of artistic creation. That’s where we can find the most creative hints and tips for solving any problem. We aim to provide viewers with clues for various problem-solving by sharing this process.
Alpha Contemporary is a combination of "ALPHA", which is the first letter of the Greek alphabet and represents 1 in Greek numerals, and "CONTEMPORARY", which represents contemporary art. Human creativity is the primordial ability that humans acquired when they were created by God, and that ability comes from God who is the root and the beginning of all existence. That's why we have named our gallery Alpha Contemporary.
Alpha Contemporary is a Tokyo based contemporary art gallery developing its original curatorial practice and sharing artworks' conceptual exploration of process, concept and message with global art scene.
