Sayuri Fukami, who was born and raised in Okinawa, uses nature and the touch of life from her birthplace as a motif for her work, which is based on the theme of energy from nature, and uses Katazome of Okinawa.
Katazome is a stencil dyeing technique dyeing with glue made from glutinous rice flour and rice bran as a dye-proofing agent.
y expressing an intangible thing using Kata, a technique that does not allow for ambiguity, she believes that new perspectives can be created.
